The Truth Behind Adele’s Old School Flip Phone
The excitement began when she she teased us with a sneaky and anonymous clip on UK TV, hinting at a new release.

She said: “After doing my music video, I’m sure I’ll get a few flak for this, but I actually would like to act after working with Xavier Dolan who is truly, truly awesome and his films are incredible”.
Adele’s comeback song “Hello”, is reported to have an interesting similarity with Lionel Richie’s “Hello” video. The song – and the accompanying video – have proven so popular, that the video broke the record previously held by Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” for most views in the first 24 hours.
Fans were quick to pick up on the minor detail and wondered why the successful 25-year-old was using such an outdated device. “If I put an iPhone or a modern auto in a movie it feels like I’m making a commercial”.
“So hello from the other side / I must have called a thousand times / To tell you I’m sorry for everything that I’ve done”, she sings. I never even questioned it. There is no “drama” when you hang up on someone on an iPhone but that distinctive “click” of a flip phone does the trick. Instead of using contemporary devices such as Apple and Samsung in the music video, the director let the “Rolling In The Deep” singer use a flip phone and made the display in black & white. “I’m realizing maybe I’ve been more distracting than anything else with that flip phone, but it wasn’t intentional!” Those things: iPhones, laptops, all those elements, to me, they bring me back to reality: That’s not what you want.
“It says she is stranded in nature, which has regained its rights”, he said. “It’s an element of the past”.

And if that wasn’t enough of an explanation, the director’s also taken to Twitter in response to everyone cracking funnies about the phone.
