In a statement, the US-led coalition said that near the cities of Al-Hasakah and Deir ez-Zor, one strike destroyed 283 ISIS vehicles.
This is the second major series of attacks on fuel tankers there in less than a week, as on the previous Sunday USA offiicals claimed to have destroyed 116 other tankers, claiming they were being used the facilitate ISIS oil smuggling operations.
Ahead of the airstrikes, an army spokesman says US planes chased away drivers by dropping warning leaflets and making strafing runs before bombing the trucks.
The United States and its allies conducted additional strikes against Islamic State over the weekend, including two in Syria that destroyed almost 300 Islamic State vehicles and an oil facility, the coalition leading the operations said.
Daesh’s oil supplies are under attack by a US-led coalition. The two were in addition to nine strikes in Syria on Saturday reported earlier by the US-led task force.
The USA carried out its first strike against ISIS’ oil trucks on November 16.
Russian Federation also has begun targeting the Islamic State’s oil infrastructure with airstrikes, including attacks on tanker trucks.

Russia, which is conducting a separate air campaign in Syria, claims to have destroyed dozens of fuel trucks and has declared a “free hunt” for any trucks carrying oil “belonging to terrorists” in IS-controlled areas. It smuggles the oil mainly to Turkey, selling at cut-rate prices and generating almost $50 million a month.
