The virtual world of ‘Pokemon Go’ is already reshaping the real one

The popularity of Pokemon GO threatens companies like Foursquare, which has a service called Swarm offering coupons and prizes to customers who “check in” at participating venues, and social e-commerce sites like Groupon and LivingSocial, which many businesses use as a vehicle to offer discount deals.
Many users are trying all kinds of tricks to download the app as it is not yet available in all countries worldwide.
Niantic on Tuesday released version 1.0.1 of the iOS app, fixing the Google permissions problem and resolving “issues causing crashes” and login/logout instability.
