The singer had performed at The Plaza Live theater Friday night, along with the band Before You Exit, when the shooting broke out.

Blake was desperate for answers after hearing that Christina had been shot by a lone gunman while signing autographs after her concert at Plaza Live in Orlando, Florida.

Grimmie’s brother immediately tackled the suspect after he opened fire, police say, and the suspect shot himself during the struggle.

In a video clip posted to Instagram that garnered almost 67,000 views in just a few short hours, the former Voice contestant can be seen energetically crooning her song “Without Him” into the mic. She eventually went with Island Records and was working with the label to release her first major album in the fall.

Grammy-nominated singer Tori Kelly wrote: “i have no words. rip christina see you again, love. isaiah 25:8”.

Celebrities remembered former “Voice” contestant Christina Grimmie as an incredible talent taken too soon, as they rushed to pay tribute to the singer on social media early Saturday morning. She competed in the sixth season of NBC’s The Voice, finishing third. This video has over 11 million views.

Police have not identified the gunman or a motive for the murder. “Rip to an fantastic soul!”

“The Voice” reacted to news of the New Jersey native’s death by changing its Twitter avatar to solid black, and tweeting, “We are heartbroken”. Here she performs “With Love” on the show in 2014.

In May 2010, Grimmie acquired Selena Gomez’ parents, mother Mandy and stepdad Brian Teefey, as her new management team.

“It was just a casual event”, she said.

She had posted this tweet before the concert.
