As tributes have poured in on social media from the star’s friends, family and admirers, details about the identity of the gunman have emerged. She didn’t consider herself a famous person, not like the judges on “The Voice”, where she competed, but she had a following that was as enthusiastic about her music as she was.

She captioned the image: “Note on the home of Kevin Loibl’s family in St. Pete”. While she was a YouTube star, he seemed to be a shadow of Grimmie’s online presence. He left little trace online.
The shooter’s name has not been released, but Orlando police say he did not know Grimmie and had traveled to the venue from another city in Florida. “As I was in line to meet Christina Grimmie for the first time, the man directly in front of us in line gave Christina a fate she did not deserve”. He then fatally shot himself after being tackled by Grimmie’s brother, Marcus.
Shortly before the show, Grimmie, who rose to fame through her YouTube channel, posted a video urging fans to attend the show.
Grimmie succumbed to her injuries in the Orlando Regional Medical Centre in the early hours of Saturday.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, Rivera also claimed that she and her friends allegedly broke the news to the band Grimmie was opening for, pop-rock band Before You Exit. “There is no indication that he knew her”.
“There’s no indication that he knew her, we’re looking into that to try and find a motive for the crime”.
He had two guns in his possession and he opened fire as soon as he got near Grimmie.
“The Voice” paid tribute to Grimmie on its official Twitter page: “There are no words”. We lost a lovely soul with an awesome voice.
The 22-year old died a short time later at the hospital.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reported in 2014 that Grimmie moved to Los Angeles in 2012 after joining Selena Gomez on tour to focus on her singing career. “I wanted to write with feeling and emotion”. Grimmie was shot to death after giving a concert in Orlando on Friday night. A publicist for Grimmie says “The Voice” star has died after being shot at a concert venue in Florida.
“It was just a casual event”, she said.
“Words can not begin to describe the pain I am feeling”, said Teefey, who married Gomez’s mother Amanda Cornett in 2006.
Mina says detectives are searching Loibl’s cellphone and social media accounts looking for clues. “She was shot at her show in Orlando and, unfortunately didn’t survive the gunshot wounds”. The note said there would be no other comment.
Mina said unarmed security guards had checked bags as people entered the venue, but no metal detectors were used and no body searches were made.
An investigation is ongoing, but police credited the singer’s brother with preventing the gunman from hurting others. Around 120 others were in The Plaza Live at the time.
They included Voice coach and ex-Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine, who said he was “absolutely devastated and heartbroken”.

All events at The Plaza Live have been suspended until further notice, a spokeswoman said.
