The Volvo S90 will (just about) handle the driving on highway trips
The S90 will utilize the second generation of Pilot Assist, Volvo’s semi-autonomous driving tech that was first featured in the XC90 SUV.

Volvo has announced it will have a semi-autonomous driving mode as standard on all the S90 cars it will sell.
Every S90 sold in the USA will come standard with the latest version of Volvo’s Pilot Assist system.
Vision 2020 is Volvo’s plan to make sure that no one is killed or seriously injured in a new Volvo by 2020.
The next iteration of the system, which will debut in the S90, can do all of these things, but at speeds of up to 80mph (130km/h) and, as long as the road is clearly marked, it will not need to follow the vehicle in front in order to understand the form and direction of the route ahead and to be able to adjust the steering to suit. It and only worked for speeds up to 30 miles per hour which was still appropriate because its goal was to help out in congested situations.
“The S90 will be the first vehicle to offer this semi-autonomous technology as standard”, said Kerssemakers. Volvo also has said it will take responsibility for any accidents caused when its cars and SUVs are in full autonomous mode.
The Swedish company is presenting the S90 sedan to the public for the first time next week at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, and it said on Friday that the entire model range will be renewed in four years.

Volvo for decades was considered an alternative to the German luxury vehicle makers, or a “near” luxury brand that made sense for folks who wanted something with a bit more backstory than what the mass market offered.
