“There’s definitely a few zombie water action coming up”, Kirkman said, before joking that “maybe you’ll see the Walking Dead cruise come passing by” (which is a real thing happening in January, by the way).

“It was always going to be about how an environment changes people”, star Andrew Lincoln said. “Emotionally, naturally, everything is completely relentless”. They’re [the characters] dealing with the threats from all these different tribal factions that are trying to kill them.

On the subject of makeup, Rob revealed an increase in the use of computers and digital effects to make the zombies more gruesome.

Lincoln seconded Kirkman’s claim. “It is incredibly dramatic this season”.

Eclipsing just about every other event at this weekend’s four-day New York Comic Con, AMC flew out the cast and virtually the entire crew from the Georgia set of the hit zombie series for the first premiere in the history of the venerable arena.

“I’m from Zimbabwe”, actress Danai Gurira said. “I mean, I do, but I can’t tell you”.

Spoilers for Fear the Walking Dead Season 1 follow. “I think it’s an interesting area to explore, and we do go into it”.
