In tandem with the renewal, there was also news of Chris Hardwick’s ever-popular Talking Dead making a return, which is hardly surprising considering the growing popularity of the live reaction series.

Charlie Collier, AMC President shared “The Walking Dead” season 7 renewal news and said, “Thank goodness someone had a Magic 8-Ball with them in our many long internal meetings about these renewals”. He then extended his gratitude to the fans who have remained passionate about the show throughout its current six-season run.

Showrunner Scott Gimple released a vague statement via the show’s host Chris Hardwick following last Sunday’s episode saying, “In a few way we will see Glenn – a few version of Glenn or parts of Glenn – again”.

The title of last night’s episode of “The Walking Dead” was “He’s Not Here”, and even though it was a Morgan Jones quote, it best described Steven Yeun and his character, Glenn Rhee.

AMC has renewed “The Walking Dead” for a seventh season.

Matt Fowler is a writer for IGN and a member of the Television Critics Association (TCA). Except for its air date of October 2016, there’s little we know about that future season, mainly because any info would spoil what’s occurring at the moment. That gives AMC at least 31 Sundays of Walking Dead content in 2016, and it does carry the risk of oversaturation of its most popular brand.

This is reportedly higher than the viewer ratings for episode 3 of the previous season.

We are still in shock about Glenn’s apparent death on last week’s Walking Dead Season 6. “The Walking Dead” is now proving to be one of the shows that is making a mark in telling gripping and fresh story arcs every year.
