Fans have been looking forward to “Fear the Walking Dead” since a companion series was announced.
In another news, series executive producer Greg Nicotero earlier revealed their future plans for the companion series as AMC has already ordered a second season. A previous report says the focus will be how media (mis)representation caused quite the scare about the virus outbreak. Bloody Disgusting loves the fact Fear puts more emphasis on the core cast members and less on the CGI zombie graphics.
Even Nick isn’t entirely sure what to believe, although evidence gradually begins to mount that something is very, very wrong, including a disturbing encounter caught on video by the local news. This hour points in a more promising direction, although as yet the characters still seem a little malnourished, particularly compared with the original, which niftily wedded a horror motif to an ongoing, evolving soap opera where no one is completely safe (OK, maybe just a few key people). The school teacher couple who intend to unite their dysfunctional family are unaware of the massive threat that is looming over Los Angeles. He also has a teenage son and from the clip, it sounds like the teen is having difficulty adjusting to suddenly becoming a blended family. There are police up ahead and a helicopter flying above them.
Later in the interview, Reedus added, “You have taken a collection of wild animals and placed them in a domestic ecosystem, and some of them would rather be in the wild, and several of these animals can not figure out how to adapt other than remaining wild”. Granted, the obvious goal was to see these extraordinary events unfold through ordinary people, but Dickens and Curtis, both fine actors, are left to dine on a too-thin gruel.

On August 23, “Fear the Walking Dead” will make its cable network debut, and fans of the original series will get their first glimpse into the time period that was known as the “incubation”, marked by the rise of the “Walkers”.
