Fans obviously didn’t get a look or even a chance to attempt figuring out which character was killed off when Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) smashed their head in with his barbed wire baseball bat Lucille, but the first season 7 trailer for The Walking Dead does reveal a few other things about the upcoming episodes.
The focus of season 6 was the debut of arch-nemesis Negan, who is seen in the comic books beating one of the best-loved characters to death. He asked executive producer Robert Kirkman whether the payoff would be worth it for fans. Starting off with a montage of scenes dedicated to the more hopeful past moments of each character, the trailer soon ventures into their latest darkest challenge-facing against the murderous Negan. Executive producer Gale Anne Hurd was quoted mentioning “non-human characters” to be featured in episode 1, as reported by Deadline.
What did you think about the trailer for Season 7 of The Walking Dead?
Yesterday, The Walking Dead took to the panel at Comic-Con to dish the dirt on the forthcoming seventh season of the hit drama. Lincoln, on the other hand, teased the events he called “the greatest showdowns of the show”.
Andrew Lincoln reprises his defining role as Rick Grimes, while season 7 will also feature Norman Reedus, Lauren Cohan, Steven Yeun, Danai Gurira, Chandler Riggs, Sonequa Martin-Green, Michael Cudlitz, Josh McDermitt, Ross Marquand, and Christian Serratos.
Only that’s not it. An enticing prologue proceeds to show Tara (Alanna Masterson) – last seen heading to the Hilltop Colony with Heath (Corey Hawkins) – now very much in danger and alone save for unknown enemies and some hungry walkers.
