Immediately after Bernie Sanders endorsed Clinton on Tuesday, Libertarian Gary Johnson released a video on Facebook aimed at capturing some of the “Feel the Bern” voters who may feel let down by Sanders abandoning his campaign.
“I have come here to make it as clear as possible as to why I am endorsing Hillary Clinton”, Sanders said during a campaign event with Clinton in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
His decision to endorse Clinton came after the party completed meetings on the party platform, where several of his progressive goals were heard.
Matthew Healey/UPI/NewscomToday Bernie Sanders has officially declared his support for Hillary Clinton, his former competitor for the Democratic presidential nomination. Sanders previously even questioned whether Clinton was qualified to be president.
“I have said publicly that if she happens to be the nominee, I’ll vote for her, but my vote does not indicate my endorsement”, said state Rep. Joe Salazar.
Democrats have coalesced around Clinton’s candidacy since she defeated Sanders in primaries last month in California and five other states, helped along by endorsements from President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and others. She later went on to applaud him for all the he was able to accomplish with his campaign and thank his many supporters.
Elle Kurpiewski, Office Manager for the Democratic Headquarters of the Desert says not voting is the worst case scenario. “And I congratulate her for that”.
“Hillary Clinton understands that we must fix an economy in America that is rigged and that sends nearly all new wealth and income to the top one percent”, Sanders said.
“I think in this two party system that we are forced to actually be in, I think he didn’t really have a choice”.
