The Witness PS4, PC and iOS release date revealed

The Witness, the PlayStation 4 and PC first-person puzzle exploration game from the creator of Braid first announced as coming to each platform in 2013, will officially launch on January 26 in North America and Europe, developer Thekla announced. Considering the visuals, mystery and Blow’s unique design philosophy – he created the indie platforming hit Braid after all – The Witness looks to be something very special.

The Witness is a puzzle adventure game that takes place on a colorful island. All sorts of environments are on display, notably a wooded area with Autumnal coloring, underground caves, and even out on the open water in a boat. Along the way the player will be tasked with solving logical puzzles that incorporate mazes, themes, and complex architecture.

Blow also revealed that the estimated game length has risen from 8 to 12 hours to a staggering 80 to 100 hours.

The game had been delayed quite a lot as Blow was originally hoping to get it ready around the PS4’s launch nearly two years ago.
