The Women of ‘Game of Thrones’ Decide Who Should Be Queen
However, actress Sophie Turner, who plays the tormented Sansa Stark, believes that the hit series is actually a feminist show.

According to reports, the battle will see “hundreds of human soldiers on one side of a field, another army on the other side, and there is a clash that is highly tactical yet character-driven and shown from start to finish”. Season five split the cast apart, but the new season will have them slowly “coming together”. Entertainment Weekly says that will be even more true in Game of Thrones Season 6. (It’s fittingly titled, “Dame of Thrones.”) “The women are rocking this season”, HBO programming president Michael Lombardo told the magazine. It’s organic to the storytelling, yet a radical shift.
A fan favourite, Sansa Stark is the attractive but quiet would-be Queen however Sophie admits, ‘if you’re on Game of Thrones and you don’t have a cool death scene, then what’s the point?’ This epic scene will make an appearance on the show, most likely. In the post, Martin writes that if asked if “Game of Thrones” seasons 6 would spoil the book, then the answer would both be a yes or no.
However, while it would be fair to say that most actors would prefer it if their characters didn’t suffer a similarly terminal event – not least because it would spell the end of a steady income – not so for Sophie Turner, who reckons she would be delighted if Sansa Stark snarked it.
However, while that’s all certainly valid, it has also given us some of the best and strongest female characters on TV. By the end of Season 5, she fled Ramsay’s side and will hopefully find some peace at last. And while there are certain key elements that will be the same, we’re not going to talk so much about that – and I don’t think George is either. “It is not what [author George RR Martin] told me”. But obviously we have to cater to the times that they’re in.
