In the eight hours since lottery representatives confirmed that there were three winners in Wednesday’s historic Powerball drawing, dozens have come forward on social media claiming to have won.
That ticket is worth $1.586 billion, the largest lottery award in history.
The numbers drawn were 08, 27, 34, 04 and 19, and the Powerball was 10.
A spokesman for the California Lottery says winning Powerball tickets have also been sold in Tennessee and Florida.

Unless you won the jackpot, the $1 million payout or the $50,000 prize, prizes can be claimed at lottery retailers. The winning ticket in Tennessee was sold in Munford, north of Memphis, according to a news release from lottery officials in that state.
Craig Hestand, manager of the QuikTrip in Dallas, said he was unsure what his store’s take would be for selling the $1 million ticket.
Balbir Atwal, owner of the 7-Eleven franchise in Chino Hills that sold one winning ticket, said it was “very exciting”.
Erik Bragg, creator of the Instagram account TheGuysTheLimit, quickly posted a selfie of himself on Instagram with a Powerball ticket. Powerball tickets sold since November have generated approximately $70 million for senior programs, he said.
These winners – and any other yet-to-be-announced winning ticket buyers – will be able to choose annual payments over 29 years or opt for a lump-sum payment of about $930 million. Because obviously, if you win $1.5 billion, your first move is to try to become Internet famous.
