The move – which unravels the relationship carried out in more recent projects like the X-Files: I Want To Believe motion picture – is only the latest bit of promo seemingly meant to align the new mini series with the glory days of the franchise as an anchor of Fox’s Sunday lineup. Apparently in the clip, Scully self-describes to Mulder as “your friend and physician”.

“I finally figured it out, all these years we’ve been deceived”, says Mulder “I couldn’t call you because it’s gonna sound insane”.

But Scully says Mulder is “on fire believing” that he’s onto “some truth that will save the world”.

‘I do believe, ‘ he retorted. The tension between Scully and Mulder before they got together was one of the key aspects of the original series though, so it’s not hard to think that Fox is trying to recreate that magic by separating them again.

Mulder then insisted that conservative newscaster Tad O’Malley, played by Joel McHale, was correct about some vast machinations not being an “alien conspiracy”.

Mulder however revealed that alien abductee Sveta, played by Annet Mahendru, was in his house. “Sveta is the key”.

The network has also released an official episodic photo of Anderson’s Scully and Duchovny’s Mulder facing one another on a street.

The wait for The X-Files revival continues, but thanks to news out of the Television Critics Association Press Tour and a new photo released by FOX, there is even more to begin speculating about until those six new episodes air, beginning January 24, 2016.

Other returning cast members include Mitch Pileggi as Federal Bureau of Investigation assistant director Walter Skinner, William B. Davis as The Smoking Man and The Lone Gunmen trio.

Sometimes it’s a pain to consider that The X-Files premiered on Fox over 20 yrs ago-partly because David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson apparently make excuses not to effectively age group, and fairly due to the way the show’s industry will still be enough vibrant in its fans’ intellects.
