‘If it happens, it happens, ‘ said Walcott.

“My agent has talked to the club,” Walcott said according to the Guardian.

“I enjoy playing for this club, so I am just letting them crack on with things and I’ll continue playing football”. I enjoy playing for this club.

With Arsenal in the market for a striker, fans are losing sleep over Walcott’s contract situation but the forward insists that he wants to stay with the club and a resolution will be reached in the next few days.

“And if it’s not sorted before the season starts I’d be comfortable with that, definitely”. ‘It was a frustrating season.

“When you have been out for such a long time, it is hard to get into a winning team”.

“It’s my first pre-season for two years now so I want to work hard and get fit”, he added. It is one of the best groups I have been involved with.

“We have a good cohesive group that has the quality and ambition to do better, and that’s our aim”. Successful teams stay together for a long time this team can be very successful. The north London side picked up a 3-1 victory against their Premier League rivals Everton in the Barclays Asia Trophy. We’ve won two FA Cups now and the next big step is obviously challenging for the League.

‘We’ve spent the money. It’s a fortress now, I believe. And the most important thing, we’re not conceding as many. The forward made just 14 league appearances due to injury but netted five goals, including a hat-trick in the final game of the season against West Brom.

“Yes [we are looking to renew Walcott’s contract soon], because he is close to the end of is contract next season”. ‘You see it with England, you see it with Barcelona and Real Madrid. We have that trust in each other. I want to be part of that. Up front there is a lot of competition for places.

Wenger is a manager who won’t make signings for the sake of doing so and is someone who only targets players he feels can improve the options he’s already got in that position.
