There’s A Gilmore Girls Fan Fest Happening In ‘Stars Hollow’
The idea for the festival came from two devoted fans, Marcus and Jennie Whitaker, who were driving through Washington Depot, a small town in CT that showrunner Amy Sherman-Palladino once said inspired the “Gilmore Girls” setting.

The festival was created by two Gilmore Girls fans, Jennie and Marcus Whitaker, who came up with the idea when they were stuck in traffic in Hartford, CT, and realized that Washington Depot was not far from their location. Or at least to the real-life town that inspired it, which will host the first ever Gilmore Girls Fan Fest in October. Jennie wrote. “Or, any Gilmore festival of sorts for that matter”. I really couldn’t imagine a world where we couldn’t visit our own Stars Hollow alive and present. It’s the town that Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino gathered inspiration from for the show.

Several cast members, including Kelly Bishop (Emily), Jackson Douglas (Jackson), Yanic Truesdale (Michel), and Vanessa Marano (April) are also expected to make appearances at the festival. Those who will be able to attend will be in for a fun-filled Gilmore weekend. The festival, produced by a pair of super-fans, have planned a weekend that includes a tea at the inn that inspired the Dragonfly, a cake-tasting at the market, a coffee at the hardware store, a staged knit-a-thon, photo ops and more. Tickets are available here.
