There’s a new iPhone due – here’s what we know

Mumbai: Apple has sent out invites for March 21 for the much-awaited event, which will be held at its Cupertino, California headquarters at 10 am PDT (11 pm IST). Long rumored to be a March 15 date, then followed by a March 25 rumor, Apple finally made the official announcement for the event that will take place on March 21-an occasion where the company will “loop people in”. A 9.7 inch “iPad Air 3” or “iPad Air Pro” could have more upgraded features like the iPad Pro but would be cheaper and have a smaller screen. The event comes one day before Apple and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are set to meet in court regarding an ongoing battle over unlocking an iPhone that belonged to one of the San Bernardino shooters.

Apple’s twice-yearly product events are highly anticipated and the speculation that precedes them is rampant.

The post Thursday Apple Rumors: 9.7-Inch iPad Case Hints at New Features appeared first on InvestorPlace. The main highlight of this event is expected to be the release of new iPhone and iPad.

Both devices are reported to be available for sale only days after the launch at the March 21 event, as new watch straps for the Apple Watch and software updates are also reported to be part of the launch event lineup. The iPhone SE will have a curved design just like current flagship iPhone smartphone, power- and home buttons, volume rocker and general design of the iPhone 6s, while retaining the smaller form factor of the iPhone 5, via MacRumors.

The other iOS device to be unveiled at the event is the iPad Pro.

The iPad Air 3 – which may be branded as a smaller iPad Pro – will adopt numerous features found on Apple’s larger tablet including its four-speaker audio system and a Smart Connector for accessories.

The last product believed to be on the agenda for the event is something Apple Watch related, although of the three being launched this is the one we know the least about in terms of leaks. The device would likely get a 12MP rear camera, instead of the previously rumoured 8 MP rear camera.
