There’s a Way you can Choose your Preferred Eeveelution on Pokémon Go
This might seem random, like perhaps someone just dug up some random names and discovered that whatever RNG powers the game has those coincidentally-appropriate names trigger Eevee evolutions.

The nicknames are a callback to the Eevee brothers, four trainers who appeared in The Battling Eevee Brothers of the Pokemon anime.
For more help on Pokemon Go, read out our Best Offensive Type Pokemon, Best Defensive Type Pokemon, and CP Multiplier Guide.
In the original anime, the Eevee brothers were named Rainer, Pyro, and Sparky and they owned a Vaporeon, Flareon, and Jolteon respectively. If you nickname your Eevee either Rainer, Pyro or Sparky, your Eevee will evolve into that desired Eeveelution!
Given that Eevee evolutions are totally random (and no, there’s no ACTUAL trick to picking out an Eevee evolution, regardless of what other sites say), it’s no wonder that there was a mad rush to grab the Vaporeon.
It is among the most versatile of Pokemon as it can evolve into the fire-type Flareon, electric-type Jolteon or water-type Vaporeon.
So, if you want a Vaporeon, you’ll need to rename your Eevee to Rainer, for Flareon it’s Pyro, and for Jolteon, it’s Sparky.

There is a way to ensure you can decide the fate of your Eevee, and it is incredibly satisfying for Pokemon fans as the reference dates all the way back to the animated TV show.
