“But I would say just analytically in terms of what happened, I thought Trump actually did pretty well and this should have been Hillary Clinton’s strongest evening, really“.
Trump said that if Putin says great things about him, then he is going to say great things about the Russian president.
“Here is what is important, I now have more endorsements from retired flag officers than any Democrat other than an incumbent president has ever had”, Clinton said.
Leveling unusually harsh criticism against the military, Republican Trump also said Wednesday night that America’s generals have been “reduced to rubble” under President Barack Obama and suggested he would fire some of them if he wins in November.
Speaking in Laos, Mr Obama said that every time Mr Trump spoke it became clearer that the Republican contender was not qualified to be president. “He acted without the consent of Congress. Trump could try the same thing, but a Republican House and Senate would stop that”.
Trump stood by a previous comment that appeared to blame military sexual assaults on men and women serving together, but added he would not seek to remove women from the military.
The Democratic presidential nominee stressed the importance – and bipartisan support behind – the seriousness of leadership on foreign policy and national security issues during this campaign. Trump chose to talk about his deep admiration and support for Vladimir Putin.
During the forum, Trump also insisted on repeating a claim that has been previously debunked – that the businessman was “totally against the war in Iraq”.
In this election, about 14 percent of voters are either choosing an alternative to Trump or Clinton or still haven’t made up their minds, compared to 2012’s rate which hovered around five percent.

Trump did not directly respond to Clinton’s critique Thursday.
The five questions ranged from polls to process to policy specifics, but none seemed to faze Clinton. “Despite the media saying, ‘No, yes, no, ‘ I opposed going in”, Trump said Thursday before a speech on education while visiting a charter school in Ohio.
In an interview with Israel’s Channel 2 News, Clinton said in explaining why she avoids the term “radical Islam” that “we’ve made a judgment based on a lot of research that bringing Islam into the definition of our enemy actually serves the objective of the radical jihadists … I wish you know, the first time it was done correctly”.

She said that Trump favoured a nuclear strike on the Islamic State group, which is fighting in the devastating conflict in Syria, right next door to the Jewish state.
