There’s ‘no reason to believe’ Prince took his own life, authorities say

But after his death at age 57 questions are swirling over whether the music superstar had been hiding serious health problems from his fans.

As well as singing and songwriting, Prince played multiple instruments including guitar, keyboards and drums. His hometown of Minneapolis also is preparing a final send-off.

AMC says it will be playing Purple Rain in 87 theaters from Saturday April 23 through Thursday April 28. A Jehovah’s Witness and a strict vegan, he sold more than 100 million records and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.

The police have been in touch with Prince’s family, the sheriff said.

Deputies say Prince’s family and representatives are cooperating in the investigation.

It’s expected the process of determining the music legend’s cause of death will take several weeks but Sheriff Jim Olson said there were no signs of trauma on the body or any indications it was suicide.

On Thursday, members of Prince’s staff became anxious when they couldn’t contact him on Thursday morning.

Olson was not able to confirm if Prince was on any medication or drugs at the time of his death. Olson and a medical examiner’s office spokeswoman refused to comment Friday when asked about prescription drugs or a possible overdose.

Celebrity website TMZ.com, citing unnamed sources, reported last week that Prince fell ill again as he returned from Atlanta to Minneapolis early April 15, and that his flight made an emergency landing in Moline, Ill., where he was briefly hospitalized.

He said at this point, it is unclear how long Prince was in the elevator before he was found.

Madonna said Prince was a “true visionary” while Sir Elton John shared a picture of Prince on his Instagram page, writing: “The greatest performer I have ever seen”. “He ate well. He ate better than me”.

“He said he was good”, she said. An autopsy is now being carried out but officials have advised that results may take weeks to come back.

The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office has completed Prince’s autopsy. [Officials] found an unresponsive male in the elevator.

They discovered Prince’s lifeless body in the lift of the property. Litman is executive producer for concerts at the theatre.

Freed didn’t have one-on-one time with Prince that night, but Prince made a brief appearance.

Thousands of Prince fans also gathered at the club in Minneapolis where he filmed Purple Rain as the venue hosted a free all-night dance party in his honour.

No information will be released until all results have been obtained, it added.

The Sheriff revealed that Prince had been the only person at Paisley Park when he died.

Officers responded to a 911 call from the Chanhassen, Minn., home studio at 9:43 a.m., Sheriff Jim Olsen said, and the world-famous musician was pronounced dead about 20 minutes later.

Prince had spoken about struggling with childhood epilepsy, and friends said he had hip trouble.

“He didn’t look like, you know, there was any signs of the flu taking him down”, Holtz said.

Prince had been on a U.S. tour as recently as last week. Further tests will include “a meticulous exam” of tissue samples and toxicology tests from blood draws. “Nothing will be released until everything is complete”, Martha Weaver, a spokesperson for the Midwest Medical Examiner’s office, told The Hollywood Reporter. Results are pending. Body will be released to family.

It could take weeks before autopsy results reveal how the performer died say authorities
