There’s talk of sleet, snow and gales in Surrey weather forecast
The warning, valid from 4pm on Friday until 10am on Saturday, means we could therefore see snow fall during Middlesbrough’s match against QPR at the Riverside on Friday night at 7.45pm.

However, a few of the weather models indicate that other parts of England and Wales could see a few sleet and snow during Friday night and Saturday morning as well, but it is less likely to settle away from the higher hills.
Snow and gale force winds are likely to hit the Bradford district this weekend, according to the Met Office.
“Most places will see ice as temperatures drop to freezing”.
Paul Mott, forecaster at MeteoGroup, said: “Friday won’t be too bad a day and there will be sunny spells, but it will be chilly and breezy with showers that will turn to snow in a few areas in Scotland in the evening”.
“It is feeling bitter and like winter this weekend in a fresh and gusty northerly wind”.
He said: “Early on Saturday, you’re looking at temperatures pretty much near zero or one across the whole country – particularly in the east, the east will be the coldest”. “Outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow at times with sleet and snow likely at lower levels”.
Then on Saturday, temperatures will continue to fall and strong to gale force winds will bring further showers.
“Temperatures will reach only 3C (37F) to 4C (39F) over central Britain and 5C (41F) to 6C (43F) in the south, but wind chill temperatures will feel more like minus 2C (28F) to minus 4C (25F)”.
“Wintry showers will spread to many northern areas in particular and night frosts will become much more widespread”.

The Weather Channel UK’s Leon Brown added that the nation will be turning noticeably colder today and this could lead to large quantities of snow.
