These Are The Attacks Trump Says Went Underreported. You’ll Recognize A Few

Only eight of the 78 attacks that appeared on a White House list of terrorist incidents over the past two years were committed by individuals from the seven countries affected by Donald Trump’s immigration order, a review of the list by ABC News shows. Here’s a look at what’s on the list, and what’s not.

President Donald Trump’s controversial executive order barred entry to all refugees for 120 days, and to travellers from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen for 90 days, triggering chaos at U.S. airports and worldwide condemnation. He said the White House would issue a list of underreported terror attacks to substantiate Trump’s claim.

Speaking to US Central Command in Tampa, Fla. on Monday, Mr. Trump suggested that terrorist attacks are so frequent that the media has stopped reporting on them.

Trump said that, “in many cases, the very, very dishonest press doesn’t want to report it”, adding, “They have their reasons”. “We moved into the White House as a unified team committed to enacting the president’s agenda”. “Radical Islamic terrorists are determined to strike our homeland, as they did on 9/11, as they did from Boston, to Orlando, to San Bernadino”, he said.

“Last 24 hrs on Twitter, Donald Trump went on rant about ‘death & destruction, ‘ ‘FAKE NEWS, ‘ & ‘evil.’ Should he get mental health exam?”

But while President Trump on Wednesday leaned on factual statistics to make his case that the USA needs tougher crime policies, his statistics omitted important context and ignored statistics that paint a different picture than the one of doom and gloom that helped his successful campaign’s “law and order” message gain traction. Trump, Conway, and Spicer all accused Nordstrom of dumping the Ivanka Trump brand for political reasons, but a new report from Slice Intelligence backs up Nordstrom’s contention that it was purely a business decision.

Asked to explain those remarks Tuesday, Trump turned the subject to the coverage of him. “[But] I think if he’s demonstrated anything in his life, he is a very fast learner and adapts very quickly”. It’s one of the most weird events I’ve witnessed in politics. “I understand the total dishonesty of the media better than anybody and I let people know it”.

The Post reminds us of Kellyanne Conway’s Bowling Green faux pas from last week, and I once again chuckle at the thought of me realizing why I had friends on my Facebook timeline checking in as “safe” in the massacre.

During the period in question, USA TODAY reported on the vast majority of the incidents cited on the list.
