A hamstring injury forced Sanchez from the field in Arsenal’s 1-1 draw at Norwich City in the Premier League on Sunday.

Arsenal eventually broke the deadlock in the 29th minute, as Alexis Sanchez played in Mesut Ozil, who showed great composure to slot into the far corner.

Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez picked up an injury in the draw at Norwich City.

Arsenal are facing up to the prospect of being without the hugely influential Alexis Sánchez and Santi Cazorla for their decisive Champions League group game against Olympiakos next week, though initial assessments of Laurent Koscielny’s fitness are more promising. “Maybe the travelling as well to South America…I would have rested him today but he felt perfectly all right before the game and he declared that he had no problem”, he said.

“I’ve got 21/22 players that I can put either of them in the starting XI and they will do a job for me”.

The Frenchman also told Sky Sports when asked if the injury could have been down to Sanchez’s workload: “You can say that is a problem but we don’t have much choice up front”. “So you look at the players who give our assists and you will see who does it. I think the best assist player at the moment is Ozil, but we have many providers”.

“The players are there to play football and not to be rested and not for the press to decide if they need to be rested”.

“I can feel for Arsene in a way”, Henry said.

The Gunners tried to get back into the game in the second half, but lost Sanchez to injury on the hour mark, the Chilean being replaced by Joel Campbell.

“It was obviously a bit disappointing to go a goal up and to concede that goal was a bit disappointing from our view, but to be fair they did well and they deserved to get a point out of the game”. “Playing the way we played, I wouldn’t be surprised if in the next 10 matches we don’t lose one”.

The progress of Koscielny is more encouraging for Arsenal; the French centre-back is expected to return to first-team training this week with the intention being that he take part in Saturday’s home game against Sunderland. And with Coquelin not there to shield the defenders, that back four could be badly exposed in the coming weeks.
