Unlike the United States, where only the top three finishers in any event are selected, Jamaica employs a more flexible rule whereby athletes can still be chosen if they meet certain criteria. “I will seek treatment immediately and hope to show fitness at the London Anniversary Games on July 22 to earn my selection for the Olympics in Rio”.
On Thursday, Bolt, 29, complained of a tight hamstring after a preliminary race, and the pain reportedly resurfaced after his semifinal run on Friday, where he won the 100-meter race with a time of 10.04 seconds.
On Saturday afternoon, however, he dispelled whatever doubts people had, running a season-best 9.94 to win his 100 heat and be the fastest qualifier for the semifinals at the US track and field Olympic trials at Hayward Field.

All parties interested in the Olympics will be hoping all is done to ensure the presence of one of the world’s highest paid athletes in Rio.
Bromell’s time was just ahead of Christian Coleman in 9.96 while veteran Gay, working his way back after a drugs ban, was third-fastest in 9.97.
Gatlin said years ago, he might have heard about an injury to Bolt “and thought I hit the lottery”.
The semi-finals and final are on Friday.
He also believes Bolt will be a force in Rio. “If you could, I’m sure there’d be a lot of people who’d pull out”.

“I’m feeling good”, Thompson said. She beat Fraser-Pryce by 0.23 seconds. “It’s not an ideal situation for me”, Felix said of the injured right ankle that has hampered her preparation for the 200-400 double. He had 4,561 points, which was not a record pace but was an 83-point advantage over second-place Jeremy Taiwo.
