‘Thinking Out Loud’ wins Song of the Year Grammy
The 24-year-old singer won one of the night’s biggest awards, Song of the Year, for his smash hit single “Thinking Out Loud” and it wasn’t his first win of the night.

The Grammy Awards broadcast won’t start until 8 p.m. ET, but with 83 categories, the honors started much earlier – and Swift already won two trophies, for best pop vocal album and best music video.

Swift and The Weeknd will be competing for the night’s top prize, record of the year, against Ed Sheeran, D’Angelo and the Vanguard and the Uptown Funk duo of Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars.
After the cast of Hamilton performed live from the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City, star and creator Lin-Manuel Miranda rapped his way through his thanks when Stephen Colbert presented him with the show’s Grammy for best musical theater album.

Sheeran faced stiff competition from Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright”, Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space”, Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush”, and Wiz Khalifa ft.
A classic love song with Sheeran’s guitar and voice, Thinking Out Loud has quickly become a favorite at weddings, proms and other romantic occasions.
The White House’s Twitter feed sent a “shoutout to KendrickLamar and all the artists at the Grammys working to build a better future”.

In accepting the award, Sheeran said: “My parents have flown to the Grammys for the last four years, and every time I lose, they’re like, ‘Maybe next year!'”
