Third-party hopefuls likely won’t have much impact

The ticket has already qualified for the ballot in Vermont, Maine, and MA, but still faces an early September deadline to submit petitions to make the New Hampshire ballot. That comes in large part because of the experience on the ticket, with both Johnson and running mate Bill Weld serving as governors.

But the question is can the two together be enough of a contrast to compete against Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump? Johnson has won endorsements in New Mexico from several locally prominent Republicans, including former Bernalillo County Sheriff Darren White; state Sen.

Johnson is fighting to make the presidential debates, with the cutoff set at 15 percent in national polls. Well, I think it’s me.

Like him or not, the success of Gary Johnson in the 2016 race has been nothing short of impressive as the zany, long-shot candidate has garnered much more support than anyone could have anticipated.

Also to be considered would be Social Security, which Johnson says is “approaching insolvency”, and a hard look at military spending to maintain a superior global force without unnecessary costs. But this Libertarian platform portrays a radical, right-wing party. “So you elect the two of us, big six-lane highway down the middle”. They’re taking, you know, they’re siphoning off our welfare system. Join the club. Polls show that a majority of voters don’t like either major party candidate. But there’s still time for them to take a second look.

The party opposes nuclear power and genetically modified food, and wants an independent inquiry into the possible role of the USA government in the attacks of September 11, 2001. We will add more photos as the evening progresses.

During his second term, Johnson called the almost two-decade long “war on drugs” a failure and began advocating for the legalization of marijuana. He argued that legal marijuana is safer than both alcohol and prescription drugs, has a growing role in medicine and is increasingly supported nationwide. “Then on the recreational side, I’ve always maintained that legalizing marijuana will lead to [lower] overall substance abuse because people will find it as such a safer alternative than everything else that’s out there, starting with alcohol”.
