Third-party run helps Donald Trump, poll finds

Eight in 10 Republican voters said their leaders should support Trump even if they disagree with him on important issues, according to a New York Times/CBS News poll released in May, shortly after Trump essentially clinched the nomination.

The R.N.C. and the Trump campaign are also installing loyal party stalwarts in key party positions to help ensure that they maintain control of the convention if rogue delegates attempt a disruption.

Clinton, meanwhile, led on “having the ability to handle a crisis” (48 per cent to 34 per cent), “having the ability to unite the country” (40 per cent to 26 per cent), “handling foreign policy” (54 per cent to 30 per cent) and “being a good commander in chief” (44 per cent to 32 per cent). But other conservatives are arguing that such a move would have disastrous consequences. I think they’re beginning to right the ship. Will didn’t say whether he’d vote for either Democratic presumptive nominee Hillary Clinton or a third-party candidate, such as Libertarian Gary Johnson. “And so our primary voters have made their decision as to who they want to be the nominee”.

Day said she believes it could be the end of the party either way.

Unruh circulated a draft of the change Friday and has been working on the other 111 members of the rules committee – but she said she has been met with some fear of retribution from Trump and the RNC against delegates who support the effort. British MP Sir Roger Gale raised the matter in Parliament, saying, “I am all in favour of free speech, but I do not see why colleagues on either side of the House should be subjected to intemperate spam”.

The fact that Trump has a business history in many casino operations won’t surprise many and Clinton recently highlighted how Trump’s failed casino experiences could spell potential disaster for the USA economy if he ever seized power.

This is not the first time that Will has broken with the Republican party. “And I think voters were taking stock of how both candidates responded to the situation”, Mook said, adding that his candidate “came out very quickly, obviously said that the voters had spoken – but said that we need to make sure that middle-class family savings, hard-earned savings, aren’t affected by what happened”.

The support is not unified, however – Gov. Rick Snyder, U.S. Rep. Fred Upton, R-St.
