Cleveland Browns quarterback Josh McCown (13) struggles to his feet after taking a hit form Baltimore Ravens inside linebacker C.J. Mosley in the second half of an NFL football game, Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016, in Cleveland.

“And new coach Hue Jackson and his offensive coordinator, Pep Hamilton, were not high on Wentz but prized Goff, sources said, and made that clear to the rest of the organization”.

“I’ll be ready to go”, Kessler said. “Here we go. Here we go”. “He told us to stay calm and let the game come to us”.

The Browns are still confident that Kessler can develop into a quality starter. “I think it’s keeping defenses off balance, and eventually it’s going to pop”. “When you get a coach like that that really loves the game and also really loves his players and really just wants you to succeed, it makes you want to play better”.

Jackson said McCown is “week to week”.

“He has been an elite quarterback in this league for a long time”, Davis said. Colt McCoy was a third-round pick in 2010 and started eight games his rookie season. I hope he heals up fast, ” Whittaker said. I don’t know that it is totally broken.

Now Kessler, who spent training camp as the third- or fourth-string quarterback, will start against the Dolphins, becoming the third starter in three games this season, and fifth in the last five. Although ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that rookie Cody Kessler would get the start behind center in Week 3, he could now have some competition. McCown lead the Browns to a 20-0 early lead.

Ricky Stanzi is available but Jackson dismissed the possibility of signing the former Lake Catholic quarterback. “Obviously, Cody has to be the guy, but we are also going to keep searching around and making sure that we cross every T and dot every I and see if there is somebody else out there that can help our football team”. Sometimes things just don’t go your way. The Browns’ first-round pick, Corey Coleman, had a breakout game against the Ravens with five catches for 104 yards, including two touchdowns.

First there was Robert Griffin III, a big-name acquisition during the off-season who broke a bone in his left shoulder in the season-opening loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Griffin is on injured reserve.

The injury to Griffin moved Kessler up the ladder to second team against the Ravens. We want to get up 20-0, and we want to run teams over late in the game. There is always area for improvement, and I take that responsibility proudly. I went to USC and I was the second guy to commit there and I never thought I’d get a chance there and I kept my mouth shut and put my head down and just kept working. He’s probably in the indoor right now tossing the ball around trying to get ready to play.
