While Bolt is largely considered the coolest athlete on the planet, Smith showed a few swagger of his own, leaving little doubt that he thought he could trump the sprint king.

Bolt affirmed he is taking a rest after winning at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing, where he arrived after recovering from an injury.

But as he approaches 30, Bolt admitted retirement is not far from his mind.

“It was definitely one of my biggest challenges because it was a short and tough season and I had to work hard”. I start training next week so that will be my main focus because Olympic year, I’m just going to go into it, ready to go, and be focused.

“Me and my coach have been discussing when I should retire”.

We’ll let this one slide, kid. After the Olympics he says that we shouldn’t say no or yes. “I had to do something because, like you see on the T.V. I gotta be fit and strong”.

“I want to be among the greats of the world so if I want to do that I have to continue doing great things, pushing the barriers. I was a fast bowler and then he (McNeil) said I should try track and field so I decided why not and I did it”, Bolt remembered.
