This awesome Android-powered mirror is straight out of the future
To be clear, the concept of a smart mirror isn’t new, and Braun himself links back to plenty of inspiration around the Web.

Talking about the project, the Google software engineer said that to get such a slick result, he had to experiment a bit. At CES this year, several companies revealed their first plans to use Google’s new Internet of Things platform and language, Brillo and Weave (announced in March 2015). Making one isn’t really that hard, if you have the time and patience.
Yes, it’s true: Braun made his bathroom mirror into a “smart mirror” that gives him important updates on things like weather, the date and time, and important news headlines. When he couldn’t find the product already on the market, he ordered a two-way mirror, a display panel and controller board, plus a bunch of components and arts and crafts supplies.
The user interface (UI) for the smart mirror appears to have a minimalistic design with colors that change according to the weather. The mirror is powered by Android and is developed using the Android APIs. Braun says it runs off just a few hundred lines of code, and that he’s looking into implementing “traffic, reminders, and essentially anything that has a Google Now card”. Inside, the mirror is still a jungle of wires with an Amazon Fire TV Stick at its heart running the Android API.
Pretty cool, don’t you think?
