While there are services created to make doing your laundry less of a hassle, FoldiMate, a robotic machine that will fold your clothes, wants to make it even easier. The new machine can fold clothes such as shirts and trousers twice as fast as a human could, and will have a price tag between $700 and $850.

Each item can be perfumed, softened and treated while being folded.

All one needs to do is clip their garment to the integrated rack, tell the machine what sort of clothing it is, and the FoldiMate will do the rest.
Commentators point out that this was not the first clothes folding robot and in 2010, YouTuber msjahloo posted a video of a crude-but-effective clothes-folding machine.

While the FoldiMate seems handy and could help speed up the laundry process, it can’t replace traditional washers and dryers.
You will still have to deal with bed linen, undergarments and socks. Robot FoldiMate is able for pre-order, so far it’s slated for a 2018 release.
The company says it takes about 10 seconds to fold each garment and an extra 20 to 30 seconds to steam out the wrinkles.

The machine is programmed to make a “standard fold”, but additional folding styles can be purchased through FoldiMate’s internet store.
