‘This. is. SPARTA!’: Watch Gerard Butler and Novak Djokovic’s Instagram

With nine majors in the past five years, including three in a season for the second time in 2015, Djokovic is beginning to dominate the so-called golden generation of tennis like Federer once did.

NEW YORK (AP) – After winning a point in the U.S. Open final and bent on proving a point, Novak Djokovic leaped, roared, and threw an uppercut, then glared at some of the thousands of spectators pulling for Roger Federer. The moment was captured and tweeted out by Novak’s wife Jelena. Federer and Nadal use polite celebrations to keep themselves motivated and energized.

Djokovic also revealed to Clarey a lighter way of handling negative crowd pressure: “What I was actually doing was trying to play a mind game with myself”. A thrilling men’s final brought the fortnight to a close but the event will be remembered for the biggest upset in the sport’s history. Djokovic’s resilience has always enamored me. “You’ve got to ask him”.

Certainly was able to do that. An unrelenting Djokovic continued firing away at Federer’s one-handed backhand, eventually drawing the error to break for 2-1.

They twist what I say. Serving for the set, Djokovic slammed down a love hold when Federer netted a backhand on the second set point. In a period between 2011 through 2015, the Swiss had won only one Grand SlamWimbledon (2012).

Williams was looking to become the first woman since Steffi Graf in 1988 to sweep all four tennis Grand Slam events in the same calendar year.

However, it was pointed out to Djokovic that Butler should really be an Andy Murray man. I will go about analyzing in this article whether I think that Federer can win another Slam, and furthermore whether that matters all that much. Nadal and Federer, on 14 and 17 respectively, are within his sights. For Nadal, especially, there are serious questions about whether the pounding his style of play puts on his body has taken an irreversible toll.

They’re still in a rain delay at the U.S. Open – because there’s still no roof atop Arthur Ashe Stadium.

“You still can not count him out”, Edberg said.

Here’s an interesting fact: few players who fall from year-end World No. 1 ever get it back. He crushed a depleted Anderson in the quarterfinals, but went quietly in the semifinals, losing to Federer in straight sets. While ten Grand Slams are plenty for anyone, he cannot but be mindful that there are three others ahead of him, one of whom is six years older and seven titles greater. In his round of 16 match versus the Roberto Bautista Agut, fans sided with the relatively unknown Spaniard, leaving Djokovic clearly perturbed. The photo-heavy tome marked 40 years of the tour’s computer ranking system and celebrated every player who had ended a season as World No. 1. His service game has improved exponentially, and so has his forehand.

If there were many folks in favor of Djokovic in the 23,771-capacity arena, they were tough to hear.

However, Djokovic said that was not the way he processed the partisan noise.
