This is why ‘Black Lives Matter’
The LAPD has come under intense criticism over the last two years for several officer-involved shootings of black men. “Cops are getting shot”. “And when incidents like this occur, there’s a big chunk of our fellow citizenry that feels as if because of the color of their skin, they are not being treated the same”.

The Black Lives Matter Movement was born after the shooting death of Florida teen Trayvon Martin on February 26, 2012, Martin’s killer, neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman, was cleared of any wrongdoing. And to fight for those black lives does not mean that you’re saying anything against anybody else.
The group was originally founded by Patrisse Cullors, Alicia Garza, and Opal Tometi when George Zimmerman shot Trayvon Martin, but the fact that Zimmerman is also of Hispanic heritage didn’t make the argument strong enough.

Alicia Garza, a co-founder of the official Black Lives Matter group, responded directly to Giuliani’s remarks Monday during an appearance on MSNBC.
