This Member of Congress Just Endorsed Marco Rubio
Reuters reported that Trump accused Gowdy of backing Rubio in the Congress Sunday. “So I hope he does a lot better for Marco than he did for the Benghazi hearings”.

“When I say national security, I mean border security, interior security and I mean employment security”, he said.
Trey Gowdy on Tuesday endorsed fellow Republican and Florida Sen. An aide who requested anonymity told Bloomberg Politics the endorsement will occur in Iowa when Gowdy heads out on a bus tour with Rubio.
Trump, the Republican front-runner, pointed to Gowdy’s high-profile October hearing on the 2012 attack in Benghazi, Libya, that left four Americans dead.
Rubio’s campaign all but said Gowdy would back him when it sent word this weekend that the congressman would campaign with the presidential candidate, and Gowdy officially blessed him Tuesday in Clinton, Iowa. Ted Cruz at 18.6 percent and Trump at 35.6 percent, according to a RealClearPolitics averaging of polls.
In what seems like an nearly hourly series of campaign rebooting efforts, Team Jeb! has now decided that being the most establishment third place guy in Iowa is the winning ticket.
That could make his endorsement doubly valuable for Rubio, as Gowdy can highlight the Benghazi attacks – a key issue that Republicans believe has already damaged Clinton – on the trail.

Trey Gowdy, though well respected among conservatives, and was one of the first elected officials to come of the tea party wave, the fact is he is an elected official. What it might do is help Marco Rubio establish himself as the natural moderator moderate to conservative alternative to Donald Trump.
