This time, an adoring Bill looks on as Hill accepts nomination

The list includes the woman who disguised herself as a man in order to serve in the Revolutionary War.

“Hillary opened my eyes to a whole new brand of public service by private citizens”, Clinton noted, before discussing his wife’s role in desegregating schools in the South. But a photo he posted Thursday of his daughter hugging the TV while he and his family watched Clinton accept the Democratic nomination at the DNC was pretty powerful reminder of the importance of the night.

Clinton talked about bringing jobs back to the USA from overseas and she chastised her Republican opponent, Donald Trump, citing several companies he owns in other countries.

Local historian Rhonda Chalfant said that while some European countries have already placed women in charge, America has been “a little slow”, although she said the country has come quite far from where it stood nearly 100 years ago when women gained the right to vote in 1920.

It wasn’t until 1920 that women won the right to vote with the ratification of the 19th Amendment.

Sabato said Clinton makes up for gaps among white females with a strong showing among female minority voters: “She’s getting over 80 percent of all minorities when you put all the different categories together”.

Speaking the morning after “staying out very, very late” and drinking “a lot beer” to celebrate Clinton’s formal nomination for president, de Blasio said Clinton “has evolved so deeply”.

De Blasio called into the Manhattan-based radio program from Philadelphia, where he attended the Democratic National Convention. “What’s not a good showing for a Democrat is that she’s losing white men by a massive majority and especially blue-collar white men”. She said unity seemed to have come to the party. “Where families are strong, communities are safe, and yes, love trumps hate”, Clinton said in her almost hour-long speech (watch it above or read a transcript here).

“Many of us have been working many years to see more women elected to office and obviously this was the unreachable goal, the last glass ceiling”, Garcia says.

At first I thought she was joking, but I quickly learned that women had not been allowed to wear trousers up to that point.

Clinton will need them, their connections to the fabric of the black community through their churches and their ability to mobilize – their magic – to beat Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump in November. She has a gift for strategic thinking, seasoned by knowledge and experience. In Arkansas, she became a successful partner in a law firm and did not change her last name when she was married; ultimately she took the Clinton name to help her husband regain the gubernatorial seat he lost.

I disagree. I think there are two groups of people who say “Yes, but”.

Harp recalled how Fudge came to New Haven prior to the CT primary to get out the vote for the Clinton campaign. A bold agenda to improve the lives of people across our country – to keep you safe, to get you better jobs, and to give your kids the opportunities they deserve.

Kramer said she was fortunate to be able to witness the historic moment when the first woman in American history accepted the nomination to run for president.

“He wants to divide us from the rest of the world and from each other”. “Both the attorney general and my husband have said they wouldn’t do it again, even though it was from all accounts that I have heard and seen, an exchange of pleasantries”.

“A man you can bait with a tweet is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons”, she said.

There would be a few other firsts in the family that night as well: Bill Clinton would be the first man married to a USA president. In hindsight, we focused too much on the live moment and not enough on the history being made.
