Thompson scores 40 points to lead Warriors over Mavs 128-120

Dallas didn’t come into Oracle Arena scared, that’s for sure. But Golden State didn’t take charge of the game because Dallas was also knocking down shots. They out rebounded Golden State 50-41 and out-assisted them 31-30.

“In my opinion, I’m playing as good a ball as I’ve played in a number of years”, Lee said.

The Celtics and Lee eventually agreed to a buyout so that he could seek another opportunity to get minutes.

“Guys had to step up and guys did step up, but obviously we can’t give up (128) points”.

Thompson has averaged 41.3 points in three games against the Mavericks this season, hitting 41-for-67 from the field, 26-for-45 on 3’s, and 16-for-17 from the free throw line.

The short-handed Mavs put up a fight Friday night, but they fell two games below.

Next game: Host Philadelphia on Sunday. G Devin Harris left the team to attend the birth of his child…. The Mavericks have lost 8 of their last 10, lost Chandler Parsons to a knee injury, and are struggling to find their identity on both ends of the court, much less capture a victory. Thus, Warriors fans didn’t get to see him play in Oakland this season.

“A great place in sports, great place to play, so not to play here once this season is obviously disappointing”. Do you try and stop them? Ian Clark was the Warriors’ top scorer with 21 points….

“We know we can make history”, Thompson said.

“But we can’t hang our heads”. The Bucks won the first two games against the Hawks in overtime, including a double-overtime win in Atlanta on February 20. Curry had 33 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists while Green had 19 points, 10 assists and 7 rebounds to lead Golden State to their 52nd straight win at home. Stephen Curry scored 33 points in 12 of 23 shooting to lead the Warriors. Detroit led 72-56 at halftime.

Dallas never caught up, however, as Harrison Barnes hit a turnaround jumper, Curry dropped in a layup and the Warriors held on from there to beat the Mavericks for the 10th time in their last 11 meetings and clinch a fourth straight season-season win. DeRozan scored 18 points before being kicked out with about 3 minutes left, while Lowry added 15.

Kerr went out of his way to credit the coaching job Rick Carlisle did for Dallas. “But I don’t get excited about eight-point losses in general. We want to continue our winning mentality”.

One member of that Warriors team was David Lee. Lee helped the Warriors win last year’s National Basketball Association title.

Franchise superstar Dirk Nowitzki followed Matthews with 21 points, nine rebounds, three assists and a block.

Forward Draymond Green was again all over the floor as he tallied 12 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, and two steals.

The Mavs, who converted 18 of 35 shots from 3-point territory, are hoping to one day return to championship status. “The important thing now is getting there”. We get them up, and we’re able to knock them down.

David Lee continues to openly admit he wasn't in top shape with the Boston Celtics
