Thompson, Warriors improve to 23-0, beat Pacers 131-123
The Warriors are the first franchise in the four major pro sports leagues to have 16-game winning streaks in consecutive seasons. He made 11 threes in a game last season – the game he set the National Basketball Association record for points in a single quarter with 39.

The fact that the Pacers are 12-7 and tied for second place in the NBA’s Eastern Conference certainly hasn’t hurt demand, either.
Klay Thompson #11 of the Golden State Warriors reacts after making a three-point basket against the Indiana Pacers in the first half of the game at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on December 8, 2015 in Indianapolis, Indiana. With all the Pacers’ attention on Curry, Thompson was able to get great looks from three-point range and when he knocks them down, the Warriors are almost unguardable. We had a double-digit lead.
That 33-game win streak is in the Warriors’ sights but another number, 72, is also a hot topic around Golden State.
Thompson, who suffered a bruised ankle during the game, combined with Stephen Curry for 62 points through three periods with Curry finishing with 29 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds.
Lewis is a former Sonic. The results were disastrous – the Warriors went on a 22-0 run during the opening quarter on their way to 44 points in the period, tying a 25-year-old record for most points allowed by the Pacers in the first. I just happened to get a lot of great looks. “I felt like I was due for a game like that”, Thompson told reporters afterwards.
Standing in the way are the Pacers and Paul George, who has averaged 27.6 points and 8.2 rebounds after missing almost all of last season recovering from a compound fracture of his right leg. George scored a career-high 48 points Saturday night in a 122-119 overtime loss at Utah.
It was different last Sunday as again, reigning Most Valuable Player (MVP) point guard Stephen Curry, had a scoring outburst in the third quarter to help Golden State pull away in the final frame and seal the victory.
They are now on a road trip but it does not seem to bother them as they have not been defeated and they are looking to continue this streak against the Pacers. Turner was in the Pacers rotation but he was averaging less than 16 minutes per game.
It was a once-in-a season, maybe even once-in-a decade opportunity and much of that was thanks to the Pacers’ opponent.
Nets 110, Rockets 105 – Brook Lopez scored 24 points and Joe Johnson had 22 as host Brooklyn beat Houston to sweep the season series for the first time in 14 years.
Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant had 32 points and 10 rebounds to steer the Thunder to a 125-88 win at Memphis.
Warriors interim coach Luke Walton has noticed some not-so-subtle changes around the league this season.
Klay Thompson, Golden State – Thompson hasn’t exactly been the sidekick for Steph Curry this season like he was in 2014, but he is starting to come on.

The Pacers will follow their momentum into the game against the Heat where they will try to limit Hassan Whiteside off the boards.
