Thoughts after a brutal Yankees / Red Sox series
Well the good news is the New York Yankees were able to find their offense on a rainy Sunday night at Fenway Park against the Boston Red Sox.

Pitching: No Yankees pitcher has more than one win. The way they are hitting, the Yankees probably should pray for an all-night soaker.
After six starts for the Red Sox, Price has now had his three worst outings – last night’s was the latest – at Fenway.
If there were only two outs per inning, Michael Pineda would be a pretty great pitcher. As each half-inning began and ended, Boston right fielder Mookie Betts hovered over his new best friend, the heater at the end of the Red Sox dugout, and went through an elaborate process of restoring and collecting heat. They had lost 12 of their previous 16 games, scoring 36 runs in the process for 2.3 per game. To be fair, the second double was a bloop to right most non-Carlos Beltran outfielders catch. “Dellin’s too good not to get back on track”. BoSox batters piled up 21 foul balls, which is a ton. The Red Sox amassed 14 hits and walked three times with Travis Shaw and Christian Vasquez slamming two run jacks while Hanley Ramirez drove in two and scored. They know how to grind out at-bats.
Ineptitude at its finest.
The Yankees, however, would not be finished with their third inning. (Emphasis on offense, hiyo!) They had one runner reach third base and one other runner reach second base. The third baseman is now 1 for his last 20. “It’s tough. We put up a lot of runs”. For example, the intense out he recorded against A-Rod to end the seventh inning. But there’s an undeniable commonality running through the two clubs, at least through the first month. Wright defeated the Braves 9-4 last time out with two runs plated (one earned) on three hits and three BB in seven frames. The 25-year-old did miss all of last season with an elbow injury, though, so it’s safe to say he’s not exactly a household name nationwide.
It’s too soon to suggest that this edition of the Red Sox is like the 2013 Red Sox in that way. The bullpen wiped that all away though.
The starter’s ERA now standing at 6.14 after allowing six runs on eight hits over seven innings. They threw 98 total pitches. Along that line, the legacy of the Boston Red Sox hangs on a thread as the game brings uncertainties of winning and losing, including battling weather conditions.
Bradley also had a two-run triple in the inning.
There’s the location of some of Price’s worst pitches, like the belt-high fastball over the heart of the plate that Alex Rodriguez crushed for a two-run home run in the third inning Sunday night or the almost identical pitch that Rodriguez hit off the wall in left-center field for a two-run double in the fifth. They are first in the AL in hits, runs, RBI, batting average, on-base percentage and steals (a 92 percent success rate).

Price didn’t have a strikeout through the first four innings. The four RBI were the most he’s had in a game since last Aug.18. This seems like a major mismatch, Betances Vs. Vazquez, right?
