Protesters gathered at Woodruff Park joined protesters at Centennial Park and the large group of protesters are marching through the streets of downtown Atlanta.

Protesters held signs and chanted “no justice, no peace” and “hands up, don’t shoot”.

According to the news release from the organization, “In the wake of the police shootings, the Georgia NAACP has called for a weekend of reflection and peaceful protest”.

Less than a full day after five Dallas police officers were killed and several others injured by a sniper at the conclusion of a protest on Thursday night, multiple social media reports followed a demonstration that blocked the entrances and roads surrounding the CNN headquarters in Atlanta.

He is seen on video accelerating through what appears to be a gap in the procession, and as he passed, two women yelled out that he hit them.

“We’re in critical times of our country”, Johnson said.

It was a smaller crowd than the several thousands who flooded the streets Friday night.

“We’re in a good place I think, there’s not been any violence and we really want to thank all of the protesters for doing that”, Chief Turner said.

Atlanta police and the city’s mayor said no one was arrested.

Another protest is planned for this evening in Buckhead starting at 7 p.m.at the Lenox Square MARTA station. Reed lingered for a little while to address protesters’ frustrations about the police.

Four people were arrested during a Baltimore protest after they refused to get out of the roadway.

“What’s not really happening to my great disappointment in the United States of America right now is after these incidents are videotaped and in many instances after the judicial process has completed, there seems to be a cheapening of the life of black people in that folks are walking away from incidents that I am stunned that they’ve walked away from”, he said, according to WGCL. Darin Schierbaum said about 200 officers from his department worked the protests, none of whom were in riot gear.

Nickell Young, 25, a black student at Central Michigan University, said she wasn’t surprised by the fatal attacks on police officers in Dallas.

The police were hands off in the early part of the march, blocking some streets to traffic, but barely visible for long stretches.
