Threat to Southwest Airlines flight deemed not credible by FBI

The Denver Post is reporting that a Southwest Airlines flight from Baltimore flying into Denver, Colorado was isolated in a remote area of the Denver worldwide Airport (DIA) after landing on Saturday evening due to a security threat. They will likely be transported to LAX via other planes, Southwest says.

The passenger said the pilot had to dump some fuel, then returned to the airport and made a rough landing. “Our maintenance teams will have the first look and final say”.

Flight 211 was headed to San Francisco after taking off from Sky Harbor Airport on Monday night. Along with the Transportation Security Administration and Denver Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation is investigating the incident.

Amy Sanders, a spokeswoman for the FBI, tells the Denver Post, “The threat was deemed non-credible at this time”, but she isn’t identifying the nature of the threat. FBI spokespersons told reporters that none of the passengers were detained or arrested. Southwest said all 143 costumers will be accommodated on a new aircraft.
