The threats were similar to those received in Los Angeles and NY earlier in the week.

Sad to say, we live in a time where all of our institutions are struggling to maintain public credibility, not because of some external threat, but because of the accumulated rot of political corruption that undermines them. After discussing the matter with San Francisco officials, Carranza deemed the threat not credible, stating the e-mail was generic and did not identify the district or any particular school by name.
“Due to newly received threats toward the school system received overnight, Danville schools will be CLOSED Thursday, December 17 for students and all staff. School will resume in January”.
Fearing the safety of schools and its students, Cortines said he couldn’t take a chance, so he was asking police to search all campuses, adult school and early education centers before reopening Wednesday.
Plainfield schools were closed Thursday following an online threat Wednesday night.
In Houston, officials said law enforcement officers were making sweeps of school district buildings to ensure student safety.
He said the two juveniles could be charged with intimidation and other crimes.
Threats closed several schools in central Indiana. “As far as we’re concerned, from the school standpoint, we believe the situation that arose earlier yesterday has been resolved”. Wright says the senior was arrested after posting a threat on Facebook after hearing about the freshman’s arrest.
“We have to take these threats seriously and we have to pursue any and all leads to hold someone accountable for these emails”, said Dallas Police Chief David Brown.
“We took the threats very serious”.
Commissioner Bratton even went to the unusual length of disclosing how he knew the email was a hoax, by divulging the “tell” that confirmed the author was not an authentic terrorist, because they had failed to use a capital A in spelling “Allah”.
School districts covering Dallas, Houston, Miami and Fort Lauderdale said they had received threats of violence similar to those made against schools in New York City and Los Angeles this week but had no plans to close on Thursday.
The district announced on its website that schools were opening Thursday after an emailed threat sent to several school district staff and teachers at Pinkston High School and Martinez Elementary School was deemed non-credible.

And in Miami, school officials assured families that the district police would employ extra security to schools Thursday.
