Three Fairfield County high schools were ranked among the best in the nation, according to Newsweek, in a story released this week.

The top overall designation went to Thomas Jefferson High School in Virginia.

Livingston Public Schools Communications Director Marilyn Lehren responded to the Facebook inquiries on behalf of the school district.

Newsweek’s methodology ranks schools based on their College Readiness and percent of students heading to college. “Unfortunately we have no record of receiving the request for data that Newsweek indicates was sent to the district”.

He said while Northview takes pride in preparing students for college, he also believes that schools should help prepare students for other career paths.

“We are sorry we weren’t included in the research”, said Lehren.

Walnut High ranked 148th, Arcadia High was 193rd, Glendora High reached 313th and South Pasadena Senior High was 460th.

Raleigh Charter is No. 100 on that list, Chapel Hill High is No. 186 and Carrboro High is No. 280.
