Three Bostonians Land on Forbes Richest List
Moreno came back to the Forbes list after skipping a couple of years, at No. 375, with $1.8 billion. All but Newhouse made their money in finance, mostly in hedge funds.

Filipino-American Bobby Murphy, co-founder of popular messaging app Snapchat, made it to this year’s Forbes 400 wealthiest billionaires in the US.
The wealthiest American was Microsoft founder Bill Gates, who has a reported $75.7 billion net worth. Because of the bar being so high, 145 American billionaires didn’t make the cut, among them Elaine Wynn, co-founder of the Wynn Las Vegas hotel, and Urban Outfitters co-founder Richard Hayne.
Real estate developer Rick Caruso, at $3.5 billion, was a new Los Angeles entrant, as was Kieu Hoang, who owns a blood plasma company and a Napa winery, and now has a $3.8-billion fortune. Last year, the social-media wunderkind only barely cracked the list, coming in 10th. Investors worldwide have put more than $1 billion into the start-up, valuing the company at about $15 billion.
The cost of admission to the 2015 list was the highest ever at $1.7billion, up from $1.55billion a year ago.
Gates’ net worth of $76 billion was a decline from $81 billion in 2014.
Berkshire Hathaway chief executive Warren Buffett ($62 billion) and Oracle chairman Larry Ellison ($47.5 billion) is the second and third richest, respectively, according to Forbes.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who jumped from 11th to seventh place, had net worth of $40.3 billion.
Herbert Louis, South Carolina Johnson company heir, has $2.8 billion, landing at No. 246 spot in the country. He ranked 327th and is the youngest person on the list; at age 25, he also is the youngest billionaire in the world.

Nancy Walton Laurie of Henderson, Nev., another daughter of Bud Walton, ranked No. 138 with $4 billion, down from 117th with $4.2 billion in 2014.
