Boselli and Mills are semifinalists for the first time, although they have been eligible for the hall in the past. The 41-year-old was a five-time Pro Bowler and was a first-team All-Pro two times.
The selectors will vote again in January to reduce the list to 15 finalists, and then on the day before the Super Bowl the selectors meet in person in San Francisco to determine the ’16 class.
Also among the 25 modern-era semifinalists are Tony Dungy, who played at the University of Minnesota and was a Vikings assistant before winning a Super Bowl as Indianapolis’ coach in February 2007, and linebacker Karl Mecklenburg, who played for Edina West High School and the Gophers before starring in the National Football League with Denver from 1983-94.
In his coaching career, Dungy took 11-of-13 teams to the playoffs including becoming the first African-American head coach to win a Super Bowl.

During his time in Tampa Bay, Lynch recorded 973 tackles, the fifth-most in team history. The class of 2016 will be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame on August 6.
