Mahone says police do not have a suspect in custody.

Police say they do not believe the shooting was random and the victims are all expected to survive, WTHR reports. None of the victims sustained life-threatening injuries, according to a Indianapolis Metro Police Department advisory.

They said one of the shooting victims, 26-year-old Aaron Carr, remained hospitalized Thursday. “This [shooting] could’ve been anywhere these two individuals would’ve run into each other”.

The shooter was reportedly targeting one person, but other people might have been caught in the crossfire.

Maple, who oversaw a small prayer vigil at the scene of the shooting, is the lead pastor at the Movie Theatre Church inside the mall. Among the mall’s tenants are Target, Sears, Dick’s Sporting Goods and the AMC Showplace 12 theater.

Another witness inside Target said, “One of the employees kind of directed us to a storage room and that’s where several of us stayed”. “I understand we have security, but we need more”, said Simone Delphie, who works at the mall.
