Three Israelis killed in Jerusalem attacks

Two Palestinians are believed to have carried out the attack on a passenger bus.

After the attack, the body of the attacker lay on the ground under a white tarpaulin as ambulances ferried the wounded away.

The Israeli military says it opened fire as a protester threw a firebomb at a auto. We are anxious all the time. “I’m sure the steps we will take will let the other side know that terror doesn’t pay”.

Funerals of Palestinians killed in unrest or while allegedly carrying out attacks – as well as online videos of shootings – have fed anger.

And another Israeli died after being run down and stabbed elsewhere in the city.

A security guard shot and seriously wounded the attacker, who was identified as a resident of eastern Jerusalem with Israeli citizenship.

Mr Shemesh, a retired worker for a telephone company who said he remembered Israel’s 1947-49 War of Independence, said: “This goes on for ever because they don’t teach their children why there are Jews here”.

“There was an earlier stabbing in central Israel where two people were injured. Why are we under curfew and they aren’t?” she said of the Palestinians.

Palestinians in East Jerusalem, unlike those in the West Bank, are able to travel in Israel without restrictions.

While Israelis are on edge over the random nature of the attacks, the long-running diplomatic deadlock has left many Palestinians feeling hopeless about their chances of ending almost half a century of Israeli occupation. The attacker was also injured.

In a separate, near-simultaneous attack, another assailant rammed a vehicle into a bus station before stabbing bystanders.

“The Hamas movement blesses the heroic operations in Jerusalem and hails the heroes who executed them”, the organization’s Twitter account said.

In the wake of two of the attacks on Tuesday morning in Jerusalem, roads into eastern Jerusalem were closed.

In the bus attack, police said a 60-year-old man was killed, and a second person who was wounded later died.

In clashes near the West Bank city of Bethlehem, the Israeli army shot dead a Palestinian, medics said.

The attacks took place on the same day that the Palestinian militant group Hamas, which rules over the Gaza Strip, and Fatah, whose leader Mahmoud Abbas heads the Palestinian Authority, both called for a “Day of Rage” across the Palestinian territories on Tuesday.

In the statement, Cruz pointed out that one victim of the recent attacks, Eitam Henkin, was a dual American-Israeli citizen. Nearly simultaneously, there was another stabbing attack in another part of the city. Emergency services said several of the wounded were in serious condition.

A police commander in the Ra’anana area told Israeli media that civilians chased the perpetrator and caught him. He also can not be seen as abandoning what the Palestinians view as their defense of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the third-holiest site in Islam.
