Three juveniles allegedly beat guard, escape detention center

A court-ordered evaluation noted his exceptionally high risk for violence, aggressive tendencies, psychopathic features and extensive criminality.
Schneider, the judge who is also a member of the Harris County Juvenile Board that oversees the juvenile probation department, said Coby’s escape should trigger more discussion about whether judges should have the discretion to house a few juveniles, who are under 17 but deemed to be especially risky, in the adult jail.
The three escaped through secure areas, Tom Brooks, executive director of the Harris County Juvenile Probation Department, said during a news conference Sunday. But nothing like what happened Sunday.
Keneaster said the whole thing started with a simple request for toiletries, which turned brutal.
“He [Coby] wanted a few toilet paper, so I brought him a few toilet paper”, Keneaster remembered.
Keneaster said even after he handed over his keys and cell phone, Coby continued wailing on him until he was out cold. The unit known for pursuing violent fugitives was called in because Coby was charged with capital murder and aggravated assault in a pair of shootings outside two Houston nightclubs in March.
