At least two of the stab victims have died as a result of their injuries.

Two people have been killed and four others have been injured after a stabbing spree involving the Silver City Galleria mall in Taunton, Massachusetts, police say. Concerned family members called an ambulance Monday morning, and medics took the father of two to the hospital, where he was put in psychiatrists’ care, according to Devries.
A short time later, the suspect drove the vehicle into the front of the Macy’s department store located at the Silver City Galleria and attacked several other people.
Taunton is 35 miles east of Providence, R.I., and 39 miles south of Boston.
According to police, four people were stabbed in two separate incidents and the suspect was shot by an off-duty officer.
A 56-year-old man from Taunton, who was stabbed inside the shopping complex, also died.
“Tragedy has certainly hit the city of Taunton hard here this evening”, Mayor Tom Hoye said late Tuesday.
“It appears that but for the actions of the deputy sheriff, there may very well have been other victims”, Quinn said.
“I saw them take three people out of the front here”, Machado said, gesturing toward one of the entrances to the mall.
Witnesses said the crash and the attacker’s unexpected assaults on shoppers prompted chaos and forced the crowded mall into a lockdown.
The young girl told the couple what she had just seen.
“Seems to be one suspect”, Sullivan said.
The condition of the suspect was not immediately known.

A motive remains under investigation, but police say there is no link to terrorism and are treating it as a criminal matter.
