The police officials said that the casualties took place in Narra area of Havelian tehsil where two women and a nine-year-old child were killed when their house collapsed due to quake.
The epicentre of the quake was 23 km north-east of capital Islamabad and it was 10 km deep.
However, Pakistan Metrological Department has recorded magnitude of the quake at 4.6 on Richter scale.

Pakistan straddles part of the boundary where the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates meet, making the country susceptible to earthquakes. It was hit by a 7.6-magnitude quake on October 8, 2005 that killed more than 73,000 people and left about 3.5 million homeless, mainly in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir.
